Event Description: Core Empowerment Training s a 5-Day Retreat inspired by the Jnana Yoga tradition and developed by Dr. Paula Horan. The purpose of Jnana Yoga, is to help you Realize The Freedom That You Are, by assisting you in experiencing your own true nature. This is accomplished when we can overcome the illusion of igno-rance (a mistaken belief in a separate self) by transcending the masks of ego that are sense dependent and bound by karma. From a western vantage point, CET is devoted to cutting through the ideas and beliefs we have and all of the emotions they in turn evoke, that limit our possibilities and choices. These preconceived notions are what deprive us of a true present and of any sense of balance or contentment with life. The benefits received by participants over the last twenty years of Retreats have proven that CET can indeed point people toward Fully Experiencing Who They Are, which is usually quite different from who they thought they were. The Retreat has been held in different countries since 1989 and has also gone through a number of refinements. Yet the basic structure has always remained the same. It can truly be said that after CET, everything changes, and yet at the same time, nothing changes. What really shifts is Your Perspective...A New Way of Seeing and Being. As each element of the persona is exposed through Clear Seeing (one of the practices), often a satori or powerful glance at one's own true nature occurs. As such, for years, CET has provided the inspiration for a number of its participants to make significant and lasting changes in their lives. Likewise, it has helped oth-ers who were previously dissatisfied with their lives, see their current situation in a new light. In short, CET is a one-of-a-kind process that combines the eastern perspective of non-duality with a western spirit of 'Can Do'. In the same way, it combines the best of eastern wisdom with the insights of western psychology. Ulti-mately, CET uses the mind to go Beyond the Mind--to the Heart-Mind--to the Realm of Pure Potential. About Dr Paula Horan Dr. Paula (Laxmi) Horan is an American psychologist who is known worldwide for her numerous books, seminars and retreats on alternative and complimentary therapies, authentic forms of vibrational medicine, integrative body/mind therapeutics and ground-breaking approaches to spirituality and consciousness development. Born in America, she lived her childhood years in Italy and Germany. Completing her undergraduate studies in sociology and English literature in Britain, she then achieved both her MA (focusing on dance therapy) and her Ph.D. in psychology at San Diego, California. From 1992 through 1997, she spent much of her time with her spiritual master Shri H.W.L Poonjaji in India, who gave her the name Laxmi. Shri Poonjaji or 'Papaji', as he was affectionately called, was a self realized being who left his body in September 1997. Quickened by his presence, Paula shifted her focus from self-improvement to the self-inquiry that awakens the quiet stillness of awakened presence. This inspired her to elicit the same joy and freedom in others. Developing the energizing vehicle of the Core Empowerment Training (CET), a five-day retreat that incorporates Jnana Yoga, the science of cutting through the mind, she has had a worldwide impact. The purpose of Jnana Yoga, is to help people to Realize The Freedom That They Are, by assisting them to experience their own true nature. This is accomplished by overcoming the illusion of ignorance (a mistaken belief in a separate self) by transcending the masks of ego that are sense-dependent and bound by karma. She considers CET her life's heart work.
